Notes
There are a few patches in the 1st Set (due to diginoise) with SBD>Cm>?>Cass>CD. There is a split-second of noise in GDTRFB that I couldn't patch. There are also patches in Roses, Might As Well, He's Gone, Drums, Good Lovin and all of Don't Ease Me In from (FOB)Neumann KM84>Cass Master>Dat>Cool Edit Pro>CD. (It's not as bad as it looks)
-- Seamless transition between discs 2 and 3.
-- Thanks to Andy Lemieux and Joe Browning for their help with this project.

Underrated show for sure- so few reviews- Show should not be overlooked
Honestly, I have only heard set 2- but on the strength of that set alone I recommend this show-Jerry is in the zone, totally dialed in- The estimated prophet
...
floats, the He's Gone hums- Jerry carries The Other One further than the band wants to go, and they have no choice but to catch up with him at the end- then an oh so sweet Stella Blue is played- sweet sweet outro solo from the man- give it a listen
I'll run with the Big Fellah on this One..... I was there as well, but most of it in the 3rd base dugout. Was really working the second set. Truely a

wonderful venue with girly bars around the corner. Honk Honk.

An off night
This is not one of the better shows of the year. I'd say that most of the songs are okay, but there are no particular stand-out highlights. And there are
...
several low points. It starts with Jerry and Bob falling all over the vocals. Bob is as bad as Donna on her worse night in places, and makes one wince on the Other One. There are plenty of good 1981 shows here at the Archive. You can skip this one. The following night, 8-31, blows this show away. http://www.archive.org/details/gd81-08-31.sbd.miller.30070.sbeok.flacf

Scorching in Tempe
What a great show in one of my favorite venues of the early 80's. It was always hot in Arizona when the boys played and this day was no different. The
...
venue was part of the amusement park, so your ticket got you in to the rides, lots of deadheads on the rollercoaster. I remember the dessert thunderstorms in the distance behind the stage, a very awesome sight. There appear to be some streaming problems with Half Step for about 30 seconds, but other than that the sound is pristine fro the most part with some pretty seamless patches here and there. This show just rocks, everything is played with energy and precision. The first set is full of great versions, including a very sweet Half step>Franklins, One of the great LLR's, Cumberland which was newly re-entered into the repetoire, and a sweet Roses. The nsecond set just soars. A rockin Samson, exquisite Prophet > He's gone, and an Other one that just knocked our socks off. This show and the next in Vegas were perfect warm ups to the first ever Greek Th shows a week and a half later.
